Nearly 40 years ago, at the University of Massachusetts Stress Reduction Clinic, Jon Kabat-Zinn developed a form of meditation training known as Mindfulness and introduced it into medical practice.
Mindfulness is a way of learning to pay attention to, and relate better with, whatever is happening in your life right NOW. It is a way for you to learn to take better care of yourself by attending to, and understanding the way your mind and body work together, and helps you engage your in built resources for coping, growing, and healing.
More than three decades of scientific research suggests that training in mindfulness and MBSR can positively and sometimes profoundly affect participants’ ability to reduce medical symptoms and psychological distress while learning to live life more fully.
