MBSR Week 7

Introduction

Mindfulness is most effective when it is a lifetime commitment.  While having a dedicated regular practice for mindfulness meditation is important and beneficial, it is just as important to bring a broader sense of awareness and presence to every moment in your life, and to use non-judgemental mindfulness in your self-reflection and decision-making processes.

Theme – Integrating Mindfulness into Daily Life

This week, you will explore the many ways that you can integrate mindfulness more fully and personally into your life.

You’ll learn how to maintain the discipline and flexibility of daily practice as circumstances change over the course of your life.

Practices this week

There are no recordings this week. Your formal practice is your choice of self-guided practice. Choose a practice each day from Sitting, Movement and/or Body Scan on your own, for 45 minutes.

If you find this very difficult you might like to try alternating between the recordings and self guided practice every other day.

Practice informally from any of the informal practices when you are not doing the above formal practices by being as aware and awake as possible throughout the day.

Going further

You might like to watch this video about gratitude as one of the core attitudes of mindfulness.

And this is a very engaging talk on happiness.
